Welcome to Saddle Energy Ltd.
Saddle Energy’s primary goal is to provide energy solutions which will significantly reduce the cost of energy to our residential and commercial clients.
The current cost of power is high and volatile and is very dependent on the price of fossil fuel sources such as oil and LNG. We are going to change this.
Saddle Energy’s approach is to ensure energy efficiency through energy metering and monitoring of your home or business. We then provide renewable energy production solutions through solar PV systems which can reduce your energy bill by 40 – 100 % by generating your own electricity, rather than buy it from the utility.
Our energy management and engineering professionals identify, develop, design and implement integrated energy demand side management (DSM), renewable energy production through solar PV, and return on investment strategies.
The DC energy generated by the solar panels is converted by the grid-tied inverter into AC power which can be used by a facility. If there is a short fall in solar generation, power is automatically pulled from the grid (JPS) to satisfy the needs of the facility. Grid-tied systems cannot store energy. They generate power only during daylight hours (6am – 6pm) after which all power to support the facility must be bought from the grid (JPS).
We use only top quality modules in all our systems and our modules have a minimum 25 years performance warranty. Similarly, our inverters are state-of-the-art high efficiency inverters to ensure the maximum conversion of sunlight into energy.
A grid-tied solar PV system can save up to 60% off your current JPS bill for residential customers and up to 75% for commercial customers. Our grid-tie systems use:
PV modules (also known as solar panels)
Grid-tied inverter
Balance of system (BOS) which includes cabling, combiner boxes , circuit breakers, lightening and surge protection
Racking and mounting hardware
Remote monitoring via the cloud or mobile app
Utility interconnect licensing, JPS Standard Offer Contract (SOC) as an available option
Our system pricing is all inclusive of mechanical and electrical installation and commissioning.
A hybrid system has most of the same components as grid-tied with the following exceptions:
PV panels – there are more panels in a hybrid system vs a grid-tied so as to generate power which can be stored on the batteries
Hybrid inverter – replaces the grid-tied inverter. A hybrid inverter can charge and discharge the batteries to which it is connected. We only use high-efficiency all-in-one hybrid inverters
Lithium Ion (LI) batteries – these batteries store the excess power generated from the solar panels
We use only LI batteries. In particular, we use LiFePo batteries which are the safest of existing LI battery chemistries. Our batteries are stackable to increase the amount of storage needed. They are maintenance free and desired to last for over 10 years (6,000 deep cycles). LI batteries offer a host of advantages over older lead-acid battery technology, including life-times, safety, space and weight savings.
Hybrid systems include the use of batteries to store excess power generated from the solar panels. Power is pulled from the batteries when the sun goes down to supply the needs of the facility. If there is a short fall in battery power, power automatically and seamlessly pulled from the JPS grid. With a hybrid system is possible to reduce the JPS bill by 95% and more.
Saddle Energy provides logging and monitoring products and services. We use pre-installation logging of power consumption of a facility to gather data critical to optimal sizing of the solar PV system. For residential customers we use the Emporia Vue 2 logging platform. For our commercial customers, we the industrial strength E-gauge logger provided by our partners N-Ertrak Energy Management Systems.
Continuous logging and monitoring is provided post-installation of our solar PV systems to ensure that the installation performs as per design and to be able to take early remedial action to ensure maximum return on your solar PV installation.
